Practice Assistant Vacancy (Junior Clerk)
Salary: c £23,000
Our client, Tanfield Chambers, based in London, is a modern set of chambers whose members pride themselves on providing the best possible level of service to its clients, and the chambers is recognised as a leading, forward-looking set.
Tanfield Chambers is a specialist property set with related expertise in commercial disputes, banking & mortgages and enfranchisement, and operates from member-owned premises just outside Gray’s Inn.

Tanfield Chambers are looking to recruit a Practice Assistant to join their team.
The successful candidate will be conscientious, hard-working and enthusiastic, and will be capable of working as part of a team as well as initiative.
This role is ideal for someone who is interested in starting a career as a barristers’ clerk.
Duties will include:
Sorting and dealing with incoming and outgoing DX and post
Dealing with incoming and outgoing emails and faxes
Transportation of documents to and from court (including lodging documents)
Photocopying and preparing bundles for court
Assist maintaining office supplies
Liaising with courts to check listings
Recording incoming and outgoing papers (briefs/instructions) on the Lex system
Answering telephone calls and assisting clients with enquiries where appropriate (in time and subject to performance this will also include booking cases into the pupil/junior barristers’ diaries)
Cover reception when required
Workplace pension & health care will be provided after the successful completion of a 6-month probation period along with interest free travel loan.
