Assistant Practice Manager
39 Essex Chambers – a leading London Civil Barristers’ Chambers
Salary £30,000 per annum plus benefits
Our client is 39 Essex Chambers - a large and leading set of barristers’ chambers, based in London whose members practice in a wide range of Civil Law both in England and Wales, and Internationally.
39 Essex Chambers are now seeking candidates for 3 x Assistant Practice Manager roles.
The chambers operates from modern and spacious office space with showers, bike storage and games room, located close to tube and overground stations.
The Assistant Practice Manager will report to a Senior Practice Manager and will have a variety of duties including:
Diary and Practice Management
Fees and Financial Management
General Support
Person specification:
The successful candidate will be able to offer excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and numeracy skills, the ability to multi task and operate within a fast-paced and demanding environment. They will have a confident and positive attitude, and will be able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. They will be well organised with attention to detail.
Previous work experience within a barristers’ chambers or professional client services environment (desirable), and a demonstrable interest in the practice areas covered by the Civil Liability or Commercial and Construction team would be helpful.
Education: a Degree standard qualification preferred or 3 A-level qualifications equivalent (with a minimum of 5 Grade C (4) or above GCSEs including both Maths and English at minimum of Grade 6), and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
The above person specification criteria may be demonstrated through extra-curricular activities or voluntary work rather than formal employment.
Remuneration details:
Starting salary of £30,000 for a full time and permanent role.
23 days’ holiday entitlement (increasing annually) plus public holidays.
