HR and Compliance Officer
Leading London Barristers’ Chambers

Our client is a prestigious and leading London barristers’ chambers, based in Lincoln’s Inn, who are now seeking a HR and Compliance Officer, for 2 days per week.
Candidate profile: The ideal person will already be successful in a similar role within a comparable chambers or law firm. A proven track record in both human resources and regulatory compliance is essential. The candidate will also be able to demonstrate the ability to build close, collaborative and supportive relationships with the senior clerking team, chambers’ leadership and at committee level.
Compliance responsibilities: Chambers’ HR and Compliance Officer will have responsibility for assisting chambers’ leadership ensure chambers and its members meet their compliance and regulatory obligations. They will be responsible for maintaining and updating all internal policies and procedures, internal knowledge management, and implementing “best practice” principles to all. The role requires a commercially minded person able to support the senior clerking team on business and client issues. Additionally, the role encompasses the duties of Data Protection Officer for chambers.
Human Resources responsibilities: in addition to advising senior leadership on all HR related matters, the role covers the management, administration and maintenance of all aspects of a member of staff’s employment journey from recruitment to onboarding, through appraisal, training and development, disciplinary, and departure from chambers.
