Our client is specialist group of barristers who form part of the Legal Aid Agency within the Ministry of Justice.
The Public Defender Service (PDS) Advocacy team was established in 2014 and comprises of five Queen’s Counsel and twenty Junior Counsel, experienced in criminal law, who practice in courts all over England and Wales.

The PDS now requires a Junior Clerk to assist the very experienced Senior Clerk, Robin Driscoll.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity for someone with existing clerking experience to be working in the heart of the criminal justice system. The cases that are handled by the PDS are serious and complex Crown Court matters.
The PDS uses the MLC Diary and Fees system, and is run just like any other criminal law chambers.
Salary will be paid according to experience, and a package of benefits available in the Civil Service will be available to the successful candidate after completing a satisfactory probation.
