No5 Barristers’ Chambers is seeking a new Chambers Director to succeed Tony McDaid as he steps back from his current role.


No5 Barristers’ Chambers is a highly respected and successful multidisciplinary set with a longstanding reputation for excellence and the delivery of outstanding client service. The chambers comprises over 270 barristers, including 44 KCs, and 60 staff across three locations: Birmingham, London, and Bristol.


The Chambers Director will oversee all clerking and non-clerking functions. The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking and dynamic professional, either an experienced barristers’ clerk or an individual with significant legal management experience within a set of chambers or law firm.


Candidates must demonstrate proven expertise in practice management, financial management, business development and marketing, including effective use of technology. Strong leadership skills are essential with the ability to supervise, motivate and support both staff and barristers while ensuring the efficient administration of chambers.


Applicants should possess a thorough understanding of the legal market, current regulatory requirements and fee procedures, alongside an awareness of forthcoming developments at the Bar. This opportunity will appeal to an ambitious and motivated leader capable of inspiring an established and high-performing team.
