Junior Clerk
Salary - £29,000 p/a
Our client is a highly regarded award-winning London set of chambers with a first-class reputation for acting in high profile disputes, especially in the areas of public, information, and police law.
Chambers seeks a Junior Clerk to strengthen its administrative team. This is a full time role with front-of-house duties two days a week.
This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career and get on the first rung of the clerking ladder.
The successful candidate will support members of chambers from the prompt delivery to, and return of papers from court, as well as document printing and scanning. In addition to managing the efficient and correct dispatch of papers via the post and DX, the role carries responsibilities to help the clerks with diary and case management. For example, collecting daily court listings and notifying members of their diary commitments for the following day, circulating paperwork deadline reminders, collating dates of availability and other diary management tasks as needed, and assisting with fee note preparation. The front-of-house responsibilities cover managing the reception, client areas and meeting rooms, telephony work and arrangements for remote hearings and conferences.
The ideal candidate will be a personable team player, a great communicator at all levels and someone able to show their ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and manage their time to meet multiple, often time sensitive, deadlines.
