Our client is an award-winning leading set of Barrister’s Chambers specialising in Tax Law. Following an internal promotion, Chambers now seeks a Clerk with 1-2 years’ experience to join their practice management team.
The position is an excellent opportunity for candidates to broaden their experience in practice management and gain exposure to other areas of chambers life such as marketing and administration.
The practice management responsibilities will be for a specific group of barristers and include diary work, fixing hearings and conferences etc.; fees management, billing and aged debt work; case administration, terms of engagement and anti-money laundering checks; and practice development and marketing work for chambers.
The clerking responsibilities include general clerks’ room administration duties such as document management, court runs and assisting the Chambers Administrator as necessary with facilities management.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive, eager to learn, able to demonstrate an understanding of day-to-day practice management and issues such as GDPR, confidentiality and cyber security.
They will possess good communication and organisational skills, be able to prioritise their workload and comfortable with office technology and possess the ability to work efficiently as part of a close-knit team and independently.
